چکیده

Determining the status of steroid hormone receptors [oestrogen (ER) and progesterone (PR)] is a crucial part breast cancer workup. Thereby, cancers can be classified into four subtypes. However, existence ER?/PR+ tumours, often reported to ill-classified due technical errors, remains controversial. In order address this controversy, we reviewed receptor 49 tumours previously as by immunohistochemistry, compared clinical, pathological molecular characteristics confirmed with those ER+ triple-negative tumours. We unequivocally in 27 (0.3% all diagnosed our institution between 2000 2014). found that were morphologically histologically similar but very distinct from more aggressive phenotypes frequent basal marker expression than latter. On level, RNA sequencing revealed different gene profiles three groups. Of particular interest, several genes controlled suppressor zest 12 (SUZ12) upregulated Overall, results confirm are an extremely rare ‘real’ tumour subtype requires careful diagnosis has features warranting responsiveness therapies clinical outcomes. Studies on larger cohorts needed further characterise these The likely involvement SUZ12 their biology interesting finding which may – long run give rise development new therapeutic alternatives.

Breast Cancer Metastasis to Pituitary Infandibulum

Metastasis from breast cancer to other parts of the body is very common, but the spread of the tumor to pituitary gland, especially to infandibulum, is a rare presentation. At the time of pituitary metastasis, a majority of the patients have clinical and radiological evidence of the disease. It seems that the posterior area of the gland is the most common site of metastasis, probably due to hig...
